Awakan has two large bathhouses that swap between male and female guests each month. The first-floor Uzushio bath has a rock open-air bath, while the second-floor Panorama bath pairs a cypress rotenburo with sea views across the Kitan Strait. The water is from Sumoto Onsen (洲本温泉, Sumoto Onsen), smooth and mild. The place started as a conventional seaside hotel and has since rebranded around fishing experiences for guests.
