総合湯(混合泉)(伊香保温泉)Ikaho Onsen Sogo-yu (Blended Source)

Sulfate

The eighth-floor Kogane bath is fed by Sogo-yu, the pooled blend of the Ikaho wells. It is a calcium-sodium sulfate-bicarbonate-chloride spring, hypotonic and neutral: sulfate gives the water its quiet body, with bicarbonate softness and a salty edge layered over it. At 41.2 °C at the source and 1.36 g/kg of total constituents it is moderately mineralized, and it carries 7.23 mg/kg of dissolved iron(II). Metasilicic acid runs to 181 mg/kg — high enough to place it squarely in Japan's beauty-water family, leaving the kind of thin silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother. The posted usage notice records no dilution, no recirculating filtration and no disinfection; only gentle reheating to hold bathing temperature.

Warmth eases stiffness and raises the pain threshold. Radon and sulfate springs show the strongest evidence for joint and muscle pain.

伊香保温泉(西沢の湯1号・3号・4号の混合泉)Ikaho Onsen (Nishizawa-no-Yu Nos. 1, 3 and 4 Blend)

The source behind the eighth-floor Shirogane bath is a blend of Ikaho's Nishizawa-no-Yu wells Nos. 1, 3 and 4. It is a light water — 0.38 g/kg of total constituents and a cool 21.5 °C at the wellhead — and it qualifies as an onsen under Article 2 of the Hot Spring Law on its metasilicic acid content alone, without carrying a therapeutic spring-quality name. That silica, at 90.5 mg/kg, is what places it in Japan's beauty-water family, leaving a thin moisturizing film on the skin. The posted usage notice states that no water is added, that the bath is reheated to a comfortable bathing temperature, and that for hygiene it is run through recirculating filtration with chlorine-based disinfection.
