Onsen Sanso Daikon no Hana (温泉山荘 だいこんの花) sits inside a broad natural forest in Togatta Onsen, Zao. All 18 guest rooms are freestanding cottages in traditional Japanese style, spread through the trees. The spring water flows fresh (kakenagashi) from the inn's own source. The large communal bath, Ginyanma (ぎんやんま), runs around the clock and has both an indoor section and an open-air bath. Four private outdoor baths (kashikiri rotenburo, 貸切露天風呂) are free and need no reservation: each one has a different feel, from a cedar-grove bath to one beside a stream. Some cottages have their own open-air bath as well. Free ganbanyoku (岩盤浴, a hot-stone sauna room) is available without booking. No day use; guests must be 12 or older.
