About
Hotaru no Yu (蛍の湯) sits inside the michi-no-eki (道の駅, road station) in Toyoda-cho, named for the fireflies that light up the river nearby each summer. The water is clear and alkaline, and bathers consistently notice how slippery-smooth it feels on the skin. There is a large indoor bath, an open-air bath with mountain air, a dry sauna with capacity for eight, and a cold bath that also draws from the spring. After soaking, a tatami rest room of around 50 mats is free to use.
