Taninoyu

81. Taninoyu, Beppu True grandpa onsen. On the upper floor you pay 150 yen into a cup to the old man (who was visible in his apartment and was sleeping, by the way), stamp is there too. On the lower floor is the entrance to the bath. No shower or soap, of course. The bath's feature is that there's a shrine inside, and underneath it there's an opening to some kind of cave. I didn't risk trying to climb down there. Clear water, temperature is hot-. Breathing in the bath is excellent, yet it doesn't feel drafty.
