KAMENOI HOTEL OKUNIKKO stands by Lake Yunoko in Nikko's Yumoto onsen, with an indoor bath and an open-air bath both fed by cloudy, sulfur-scented onsen water. High walls around the rotenburo block the lake itself, but the open air and, on clear mornings, a view of the hills make up for it. There's no sauna. Dinner is served buffet-style in the restaurant, and a tatami rest area near the baths has free massage chairs.
