About
Kitakoen Onsen (北小苑温泉) sits at the base of Mt. Iwakiyama in Aomori and has the feel of a local secret: one large indoor bath, water that leaves your skin noticeably smooth, and a dining room in a separate building. The proprietress was a fishmonger before taking over the inn, and the fish set meals draw regulars in their own right. Cottage stays are available alongside day use.
