Toma Ryokan (遠間旅館) is a family-run inn in Akakura Onsen. The separate indoor baths for men and women run natural spring water straight from the source without recirculation, mild and clear without a heavy sulfur edge. Guests mention the inn's ties to the Meiji-era art figure Okakura Tenshin (岡倉天心), and it is run today by a family known for attentive, personal hospitality. The owner holds an onsen sommelier qualification.
