Hagi Abugawa Onsen Fureai Kaikan is the day-use bathhouse of a small onsen park above the Abu River dam in Yamaguchi. The water rises from about 1,000 meters underground, and locals call it bijin-yu (美人湯), a beauty spring. There's an indoor tub, two outdoor rotenburo, a sauna and a cold plunge, and one of the outdoor baths runs the source water straight through without reheating, so it stays noticeably mild rather than hot. The rotenburo look out over the mountains and the reservoir. The bathhouse is one building in a quiet little park that also holds a farm shop, a campground and a separate Italian restaurant next door.
