About

A hot-spring lodge in the hills above Kirishima, on the road toward Myoken Onsen, built around a carbonate spring pulled straight from the source into an old-style indoor bath and a rock outdoor bath that swaps between men and women each day. The name comes from ramune (ラムネ), the fizzy Japanese soda, but guests say the water doesn't actually bubble, it's just warm and mineral-rich, with a thick crust of deposits built up on the tubs over years of steady use. There's a drinking fountain fed by the same spring, four private family baths, and simple self-catering rooms for guests staying a while to take the cure. The grounds have walking paths and a barbecue space, with cherry blossoms in spring and maple color in autumn.
