Alaise de Bale Shirahama sits in a quiet residential pocket of the Shirahama coast in Wakayama. The hotel draws on Shirahama's hot-spring water, a source recorded in the Man'yoshu (万葉集) and Nihon Shoki (日本書紀) and long considered one of Japan's three great springs. The communal bath and a newly added sauna with cold plunge are in the basement of the annex. Some deluxe rooms have their own open-air baths, and a private family bath can be reserved on the day of your stay. The hotel underwent a full renovation and name change in 2026, and a seasonal outdoor pool is also on the grounds.
