Myoken Onsen Gajoen

A thatched-roof inn along the Amori River (天降川, Amokurikawa) in Kirishima's Myoken Onsen, with a mixed-gender open-air bath set right against the riverbank. The hot spring water keeps you warm for a long time after you get out, a quality the place is known for. The whole feel is more farmhouse than resort: the inn runs its own fields, serves homegrown food, and rooms are traditional wooden buildings scattered across the property. One of Kagoshima's more atmospheric places to stay.
