About

Shiro no Yu is Yaita city's day-use bathhouse, set on open grounds facing the Takahara and Nasu mountains to the north. The bathing is simple: one large indoor bath and an outdoor rotenburo, with the men's and women's sides swapping weekly so regulars end up trying both over time. The outdoor bath also rotates seasonal tubs through the year, iris in early summer, then apple and yuzu later on. The water itself is clear and mild, nothing dramatic, more a relaxed local soak than a destination hot spring. A lodging building, a campground and RV park, and a rental hall for groups share the same grounds.
