About
Another wild shore bath on Satsuma Iojima, locally called Ketsunohama. It involves pushing through a bamboo grove and following improvised coral-marked trails to reach the coast. At high tide the pool can be partially submerged, so timing is everything. Sea turtles occasionally pass offshore, and the Heike Castle observation deck overlooks the spot.
