Taiyo no Yu (太陽の湯) is a day-use bathhouse next to the Ryujoen (龍城苑) hotel in Otawara, run separately from the lodging side. Each of the men's and women's areas has several outdoor and indoor baths, a sauna, a jacuzzi and an electric bath, plus a reservable private bath and ganbanyoku (岩盤浴) available for an extra fee. The spring is the property's own and is kept flowing fresh: an alkaline, faintly salty water that leaves the skin smooth, and it's licensed for drinking in small amounts. There's a restaurant on site, plenty of washing stations, and outdoor loungers for cooling off between baths.
