A ryokan of detached villas in Amakusa's Shimoda Onsen (下田温泉, Shimoda Onsen), where every room comes with its own private open-air bath fed by fresh-flowing natural spring water. There is no communal bath, so the outdoor soak is yours alone. The villas sit among woodland with glimpses of the sea in the distance, and meals are served in private dining rooms.
