Irihataonsen Semenoyu

The single indoor bath looks out through a wall of glass at the mountainside across the stream below the Irihata dam, with an old-style electric bath sectioned off in one corner. The water itself is plain and mild, nothing showy, just a warm soak after a day outside. Day-use bathing runs only through the winter ski season, since most visitors stop in from the nearby Natsuyu Kogen (夏油高原) ski resort, and the inn runs a shuttle there. It's an old-fashioned ryokan at heart, with tatami and Western-style rooms, a big dining hall that also serves lunch to day bathers, and a manga corner by the vending machines.
