Relaxation space for after bathing
Tengu no Yu is the day-use bathhouse at the Agatsuma-kyo roadside station (道の駅あがつま峡), with separate baths for men and women: an indoor tub, a rotenburo, and a reclining nesoyu (寝湯) bath. The water is kept flowing fresh from the source, with a faint sulfur smell and a light brownish tint that leaves you warmed through. Reservable private kashikiri (貸切) baths, indoor and outdoor, are also available for families or anyone who would rather bathe alone. There is no sauna or cold plunge, and the baths themselves run small, but a free foot bath by the parking area (closed in winter) and a tatami rest room round out the stop. Set into the outdoor bath is a stone from the old Moshiro Tunnel (茂四郎トンネル) dig, kept as a good-luck charm for passing exams, safe childbirth, and clearing life's hurdles.
