Guesthouse Senwa is a small hostel a short walk from Echigo-Yuzawa station, with a compact bath downstairs, separate for men and women, that guests describe as filled with real onsen water rather than tap water. Rooms are tatami style with a curtained sleeping nook, and there's a shared kitchen and laundry for self catering. It fills up with skiers and snowboarders in winter, and reviewers keep coming back for the clean rooms and the welcoming owner.
