Kunbetsu Onsen Iwaburo

A wild rock bath carved into the riverbank of the Kunbetsu River in the southern Shiretoko foothills, reached by a rough forest road and then a push through dense bamboo grass. The spring runs very hot, so visitors bring buckets to haul river water and temper it. No changing facilities, no signs, just the rock, the water, and the forest around you.
