Nigorikawa Onsen Shineikan

Founded in 1900, Shineikan is one of Nigorikawa's oldest inns and wears its age proudly, dark timber, faded walls, and a timeless quiet. The mixed indoor bath in the original wing is the heart of the place: sodium chloride-bicarbonate spring water flows in through a simple pipe and is regulated by a stone weight, giving the room a rough, functional charm. Regulars chat easily with newcomers, and the earthy, slightly oily scent of the water lingers in a good way.
