Jizoan is a small, family-run ryokan in the Aoshima hot spring area, built around private, reservation-only baths rather than one large shared bath. The water is alkaline and notably smooth on the skin, the kind of silky 'beauty water' several guests mention. Only the annex's special room has its own private bath, indoor and open-air. The inn is also known locally as a place to pray for children and an easy birth, and the old wooden buildings, courtyard, and resident cat give it a homely feel rather than a hotel one. A soba lunch plan can be booked separately from a stay, with a private bath afterward if you like.
