Natural onsen water

Uses natural hot spring water

Outdoor BathNo

Open-air outdoor bath

Yukoyuko's facility checklist explicitly marks no outdoor bath; matches the official onsen page (which describes only a single indoor bath) and reviews describing a very small bath (fits ~2 people). Jalan and nifty aggregator page fetches separately claimed a rotenburo, but that content looked generic/templated and could not be corroborated by any other source, so it was not used.

Indoor BathYes

Enclosed indoor bathing area

Capabilities

Private BathNo

Private bath available for day-use visitors or hotel guests to reserve

Same conflict as ROTENBURO: yukoyuko marks no private/reservable bath, and neither the official site nor reviews mention one; kept over the unverifiable Jalan/nifty claims.

Mixed BathingNo

Shared bathing area for all genders

Confirms the normal gender-separated bath layout; a 2026 Google review independently refers to a lockable 女性風呂 (women's bath), consistent with this.

About

Hotel Yanagi is a small business hotel with 18 rooms (12 Western-style, 6 Japanese-style), right at the east exit of Echigo-Yuzawa station. The bath is simple, just one small indoor room, separate for men and women, with mild, smooth natural spring water good for a quick soak. There's no rotenburo or private bath, and it's for guests only, open any time after check-in but not before. It works as an easy base for a business trip most of the year and for the ski slopes in winter, with a free breakfast each morning using local Uonuma-grown Koshihikari rice.
