About
Hotel Alpen Blick is a resort hotel on the lower slopes of Mt Myoko, at around 800 meters, part of Ikenotaira Onsen. Its outdoor bath draws straight from the Minami-Jigokudani spring, water that's dark with suspended minerals and carries a faint sulfur scent, while the indoor bath filters the same source clear for a milder, skin-soft soak. Rooms lean toward a relaxed Japanese-modern style and the resort is built for family stays, with karaoke, table tennis, and its own craft-beer restaurant on site. In winter a wind screen goes up around the outdoor bath to keep it from freezing, which also blocks the mountain view.
