About
An inn in the Nakagawa Onsen valley, about 90 minutes from central Tokyo, built around a strongly alkaline spring with a pH above 10 -- the kind of silky water that noticeably smooths your skin. There are three private rental baths available through the night and a communal bathhouse with views into the wooded valley. A traditional, unhurried place with a slightly dated feel that suits it.
