Nishinoyu Onsen

A seaside sodium chloride spring on the remote island of Kuchinoerabujima, where the water bubbles up from the coast and locals adjust the temperature each evening. The bathhouse has separate sections for men and women. The spring can be too hot to enter in the morning; the island community treats the evening soak as something of a daily ritual.
