687. Kiri-no-Sato Takahara Lodge "Organic Hotel", Tanabe, Wakayama ★ Visited for higaeri for 600. Higaeri hours are 15:00-19:00 but very unstable - better to call before visiting. They sell the Wakayama 12 Onsen stamp book. The place itself is unusual. Feels like a guesthouse with onsen, but with full meals and yukata, located deep in the countryside, yet lots of foreign visitors among the guests. Staff-wise, the person at the front desk acting as the owner was not Japanese, but the female staff preparing dinner spoke Japanese. Indoor bath with clear water, temperature around 41.5. Breathing inside is comfortable. Worth keeping in mind if you need accommodation near the area or along the pilgrimage route. 10.11.2025
