The rooftop is where the onsen is: one small open-air bath that switches between men's and women's use through the day, with no mixed bathing and no private option. The water is a simple-spring type, pale yellow-brown and clear with barely any taste, kept flowing from the source, and on a clear day you can see across Beppu to the sea and the surrounding hills from the tub. Spa Tsurumi opened in 2024 as a self-check-in resort stay built into a former love hotel. There's no front desk, just a tablet for check-in and a digital lock code for your room. Every room has its own parking space, plus 4 spots with EV charging, and since there's no restaurant, a 24-hour lounge on the second floor covers snacks and instant noodles with vending machines, a kettle, and a coin laundry nearby.
