Ebisu Yu

Ebisu Yu is a small neighborhood bathhouse in Akashi. The indoor bath has a jet bath, an electric bath and plain hot water, while the outdoor area is built around the natural spring: a hot iron-bearing bath that comes out reddish-brown, next to a cold, unheated tub from the same source, so regulars go back and forth between hot and cold. The spring was tapped in 2002, and locals nicknamed it Akashi no Arima Onsen (明石の有馬温泉), after the famous rust-colored water at Arima. The building was renovated in 2024, but the indoor bath keeps its old-school sento feel.
