About

Ikoi-no-mura Iwate is a hotel bath at the foot of Mt. Iwate, in the Yakehashiri onsen area of Hachimantai. The spring water is colorless and alkaline, kept lukewarm rather than hot, which locals call a "beauty skin" water that leaves the skin soft instead of tight afterward. The indoor bathing hall is large and paired with a sauna and a cold-water bath, and there's a separate reservable private bath, filled with regular water rather than the spring, for families or anyone needing extra care. Plenty of visitors come just for the bath, and reviewers describe an unpretentious, well-kept place with a rest area to linger in afterward.
