Uses natural hot spring water
Enclosed indoor bathing area
Shower, wash stations, soap and shampoo provided
A plain, inexpensive place to stay and soak, right across from the fish market at Katsuura fishing port. The town of Nachikatsuura built it as a welfare facility for people working in the fishing industry, and it never pretended to be more than that: a large indoor bath fed straight from the source, showers, shampoo, a hairdryer. Morning bathing was part of the appeal in a port that starts its day with the tuna auction. It closed at the end of March 2021 because the building had worn out, and the town later sold the site at auction.
