About
Hitoyoshi onsen (人吉温泉) is known locally as bijin-yu (美人湯), beauty water, for its soft, skin-friendly feel. The hotel sits on land that was originally forested hillside; once a good spring was found there, the landowner cleared the slope and built it up as an onsen inn. Today the hotel has a large indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a reservable private bath, plus a sauna. The water is replaced in full every morning. Day visitors are welcome.
