Hayamakan is a ryokan on a hillside above Kaminoyama Onsen, with the Zao mountains in view. All three guest-room types have their own private onsen bath fed from the ryokan's own spring, and the shared indoor bath and the roofless open-air bath, its walls covered in local moss, draw on the same source. The water is soft and gentle, almost silky on the skin. One room type also has a terrace foot bath with the same mountain view. It's a quiet, hillside stay built around long, unhurried soaks rather than a quick dip.
