Hotel Kazurabashi

The defining feature here is the cable car: a small wooden gondola runs up the forested hillside to reach the outdoor baths, which sit above the Iya Valley looking out over the mountains. The water is a simple sulfur spring (単純硫黄泉) with a mild, clean character. The mixed rotenburo (露天風呂) has since become private reservation-only, so check current availability, indoor baths are still accessible.
