Fureai Onsen Yata is a neighborhood sento in Osaka's Higashisumiyoshi Ward built over a real hot spring, kept flowing through the main indoor tub rather than just heated and recirculated. Reviewers describe a faint mineral smell in the water and tiny bubbles forming on the skin. Alongside the main tub there's a semicircular outdoor bath, a cold plunge, an electric bath, and jet baths, plus a hot sauna with wooden two-tier seating. A free footbath sits right by the entrance. The place has a distinctly Showa-era feel, with old enka playing over the changing room and bath hall, and a small food counter locally known for its aburakasu udon. Tattoos are welcome. The spring itself was drilled in 1988, said to be the first successful natural hot-spring well within Osaka City.
