A hotel-style ryokan in Kannawa, right by Beppu's jigoku (地獄), the hot-spring hell-pools visitors tour on foot. The baths run on kakenagashi sulfur water from the local Kannawa spring, drawn straight from the source rather than recirculated. Men's and women's sides each have an indoor bath, a newly rebuilt open-air bath, and a sauna, and there are three reservable family baths for a private soak. Rooms look out over Beppu Bay.
