Arimakan

Several of Arimakan's baths run kakenagashi, spring water without recirculation, and meals here are served in your room rather than in a dining hall. The main outdoor bath is on the 7th floor, looking over the surrounding mountains and the town of Kaminoyama, used for daytime views as well as the night skyline. Indoors, Kane-no-yu (金の湯, named for the spring struck here in 1921) has a large bath, a Shigaraki-ware tub, and a stone sauna heated by the hot spring. Roman-yu (浪漫湯) adds a kihouseki (貴宝石) stone bath, said to leave skin smooth, plus its own tub and sauna. The two swap between men's and women's use on a fixed daily schedule. Three further private baths round it out: a standing bath with fine micro-bubbles, a Pamukkale-themed bath shaped by a modeling specialist who worked on Disneyland that's popular with families, and a barrier-free bath usable from a wheelchair, with a bath wheelchair available to borrow. Every stay comes with one free 40-minute turn in a private bath, and there's a fountain near the baths where the certified-drinkable spring water flows out through a statue of Yakushi Nyorai (薬師如来).
