About

Shinpuro (神風楼) is a six-room ryokan in Miyazu, Kyoto, a short walk from the Amanohashidate (天橋立) sightseeing pier. The building dates to the early Showa period and keeps its three-story wooden frame, updated inside with a quieter, modern feel. Every room looks out over Aso-kai (阿蘇海), the lagoon on the inland side of the sandbar. The indoor baths draw from Nariage Kannon Onsen (成相観音温泉), a spring that opened in 2001 from the foot of Mt. Nariage (成相山麓); the water is gentle on the skin. The baths and lounge were refitted in autumn 2023. The inn is aimed at adults, and the pace is unhurried.
