Kaisenkaku sits on the shore of Mutsu Bay in Asamushi onsen, Aomori, with its main baths on the top floor. The indoor baths (separate men's and women's) and the open-air rotenburo alongside them look straight out over the bay and the small island of Yu-no-shima (湯ノ島) in the distance. The water is clear and flows fresh without recirculation. A handful of rooms, including the suite and luxury twin, come with their own private outdoor baths on the same fresh spring water. In the evenings, the dining hall hosts a live Tsugaru shamisen and nebuta (ねぶた) performance called Jawamegi Night (じゃわめぎナイト), a regional touch that sets the stay apart from a standard ryokan visit.
