Open-air outdoor bath
Uses natural hot spring water
Shared bathing area for all genders
A sulfurous wild spring in the Tokachi uplands, reached by a forest road, a river crossing, and a short hike. The original concrete pool was destroyed by floods and the access road has been closed by landslides, what remains is kept alive by hot spring devotees who carry in materials to rig a makeshift pool from the 63°C source. The water itself, a lightly acidic hydrogen-sulfide spring, is the real thing.
