The hotel sits right on the water in Sumoto, Awaji Island. The main indoor bath, Ten (霑), faces the Kitan Strait, so you soak while the horizon shifts from dawn light to dusk. The spring here, Uroi-no-yu (うるおいの湯), is a smooth, faintly soft water drawn from the Sumoto Onsen source. Private reserved baths (To Onsen, 蕩温泉) each have a semi-open section with marina views, and a handful of rooms come with their own rotenburo. A co-ed poolside sauna, open in swimwear, adds another option. Guests can also take a glass-bottom boat across to sister hotels along the coast to sample more baths.
