About

A large ryokan at Tsunagi Onsen (つなぎ温泉) near Gosho Lake in Morioka. The bathing is split between two wings: the Teien Jomon Buro (庭園縄文風呂), an outdoor rotenburo styled after ancient Jomon-era stone circles, and the main indoor complex with a big bath, bubble jets, cascade bath, and sauna. Both wings rotate between men and women daily, so a morning and an evening bath will give you different spaces. The water is a clear sulfur spring with a smooth, slightly alkaline feel.
