Nakamurakan is an old ryokan in Hirayu Onsen, one of the hot spring towns of Okuhida Onsengo in Gifu. Both the indoor and outdoor baths draw on the inn's own kakenagashi spring: grayish, faintly cloudy water with a light sulfur smell, and the outdoor bath looks toward Kasagatake. There's also a sauna and a reservable private bath, plus a free foot bath in the small park across the street. Hirayu is counted among the oldest hot springs in Okuhida, and the ryokan's wooden interior still has that older, well-worn feel more than a polished one.
