御湯印めぐり岐阜 (Gifu Goyuin Meguri) was a prefecture-wide hot spring stamp round across 18 facilities in Gifu, from the mountain baths of Okuhida down to the plains near Yoro. The 2025-2026 edition ran from April 26, 2025 to April 30, 2026.

A goyuin (御湯印) is a hot spring seal. The idea is borrowed from the goshuin (御朱印) stamps pilgrims collect at shrines and temples, and from the goujouin (御城印) castle stamps that followed: you visit, you bathe, you ask at the front desk, and you get a printed tablet to keep in a booklet. Gifu's edition was the founding regional program of the wider Goyuin Meguri network.

Why it existed

Gifu's hot springs are famous at one end and invisible at the other. Everyone knows Gero and Okuhida; almost nobody outside the prefecture can name a bath in the Mino plains. The rally's stated purpose was to promote the appeal of Hida and Mino (飛騨・美濃) together as one bathing region, on the argument that each of the 18 facilities has a character of its own worth a trip. Putting a remote mountain rotenburo and a suburban day-use hall on the same booklet page is the whole argument in miniature.

It is also a piece of local infrastructure rather than a tourism-board campaign: the network is coordinated by 株式会社アド・プロ (Ad Pro Co., Ltd.), an advertising agency in Gifu City, which built the format and then took it to other regions.

The rules

Pick up a 御湯印帳 (goyuincho, the stamp booklet) at the front desk of any participating facility.
Visit a member facility, bathe, and ask at the front desk for that facility's 御湯印 (goyuin) and stamp.
Repeat across all 18 facilities. There was no fixed order and no per-visit deadline inside the campaign window, so the round was built to be filled over a year of ordinary trips.
Complete all 18 to reach 満願 (mangan, completion).

Rewards for finishing:

an onsen pouch (温泉ポーチ), given to everyone who completed the round
entry into a draw for pair accommodation vouchers and original sauna hats

Status

The 2025-2026 edition ended on April 30, 2026, and goyuin.net now lists it as 終了・計画中 (finished, next edition in planning). A 2023-2024 edition ran before it.

This badge is for the 2025-2026 edition specifically, and it is awarded once. Each edition has its own roster and window, so finishing a different round is a different achievement: when the next Gifu edition runs we add a badge for it, and if someone comes forward having completed the 2023-2024 round we add one for that. No badge is ever re-awarded.

The wider network is still going: Norikura, Iga-Yamato-Matsusaka and Naminami Kaido all have live editions. Onsen Oni carries the Norikura one as a full program.

How to earn

This badge is awarded by Onsen Oni moderators to people who completed the Gifu round in any edition. Send evidence through the feedback channel: a photo of the filled 御湯印帳 with its 18 seals, or of the completion prize. Because the campaign has ended, this is now a legacy badge, awarded on the strength of a round finished while it was running.
