A hot 53 °C blended source from Ito Onsen's Mizuochi cooperative, classified as a simple thermal spring with a total mineralization of 0.879 g/kg sitting just under the chloride-spring threshold. Sodium leads the cation profile while chloride and sulfate share the anion side almost evenly. Weakly alkaline at the wellhead (pH 8.4), it falls in the soft Japanese 'beauty-water' family — the water is nearly colorless and transparent, with no taste or odor, and a modest 57 mg/kg of metasilicic acid leaving skin smooth without the heaviness of a fully mineralized chloride bath.

About

A Taisho-era ryokan in Ito with two separate indoor springs, each available for private use (kashikiri, 貸し切り). The water runs fresh from source (kakenagashi, 源泉掛け流し) and comes out very hot. One spring is smooth on the skin; the other is faintly salty. Guests can mix water from both. Room-only stays and day-use bathing available.

234. Umeya, Ito Visited twice on higaeri for 600 (listed from 10:00 to 16:00). They stamp the Shizuoka 60+6 Onsens 24/25 rally book. This was that cool story with the matryoshka doll and the sweet grandma that I posted earlier. The gender separation is unclear - it seems they just let you into both as private or single-gender use. Main large bath. Breathing is fine. Mineral crystallization on the ceiling. Water is clear, temperature 45-45.5. In another room, a small bath. Breathing is fine. Water is clear, temperature 42. A pleasant, soulful place with an interesting and very hot bath. Recommended to visit.
