Sakura Ryokan has been running in Atami since 1949, and the bathing setup reflects that long tradition. Two communal bath halls, Kaisei-no-yu (海星の湯) and Tensei-no-yu (天星の湯), swap between men and women on a rotating schedule so guests soak in both over a stay. Each hall has indoor and open-air baths; one side also adds a sauna, cold plunge, and a shallow nuruyu (寝湯) lying bath. The open-air baths are lined with hinoki cypress and Izu stone. The water is mildly alkaline and faintly salty. Some rooms come with their own private outdoor bath, and meals are served in the room.
