Hotel Izukyu sits directly in front of Shirahama beach in Shimoda, and its baths draw from two different onsen sources. The large indoor baths (gender-separated) use water piped from Rendaiji Onsen (蓮台寺温泉, Rendaiji Onsen) in Shimoda city, while the open-air rotenburo and private kashikiri (貸切風呂, reserved) baths use mildly alkaline water from a spring on the hotel grounds. The rotenburo catches the sea breeze from the beach right outside. Separate barrel sauna facilities are also on site for an extra fee.
