Sandogoya Onsen Daikokuya sits at 1,450 meters on Mt. Nasu and can only be reached on foot, roughly a two-hour hike from the nearest trailhead. The lodge has two indoor baths, a large hinoki (cypress) tub and a smaller rock bath, running hot and cool respectively. Both flow fresh kakenagashi (源泉掛け流し) with no reheating. The baths are shared on an hourly rotation between men and women. There is no outdoor bath and no day-use option. Meals are brought to your room on a traditional tray. The place is open seasonally from early April to late November.
