A sodium-led bicarbonate-chloride spring with weakly alkaline pH 8.4 — soft on the skin, of the classic Japanese beauty-water family with a salty edge from a chloride sub-type. At 25.5 °C wellhead it sits in the low-temp band, so reheating is part of the operation. Moderate mineralization (1,342 mg/kg) gives it noticeable body without crossing into salt-heavy territory.

Smooth skin

Bicarbonate and alkalinity gently lift dead keratin while silica hydrates, leaving skin smooth. This is the basis of the beautifying-water (bijin-no-yu 美人の湯) reputation.

Warming

Salt forms a film on the skin that slows heat loss, so the warmth lingers long after the bath (the classic heat-keeping water, nettō 熱の湯).
