Shintoro no Yu is a day-use bath in the Nakayamadaira Onsen (中山平温泉, Nakayamadaira Onsen) area of Miyagi. The place is compact: one indoor bath, no rotenburo. What draws people is the water itself, an alkaline sulfur spring that runs fresh and unblended (kakenagashi, 源泉かけ流し), famously smooth and slippery on the skin. The name shintoro (しんとろ) comes from that silky quality. A small shop and food counter are on site.
